It is unarguable that the cleaner your glass is, the more delicious or tastier your drink. Even a speck of grease or dirt can interfere with the flavor, smell, and taste of your drink. This is why a barman or woman will rinse your glass before pouring a drink into it.

A glass rinser is, therefore, a must-have for your home or restaurant to ensure that you and your guests will get the pure taste of a drink. This content will guide you through getting the best glass rinser, how to install it and how to maintain the product.

Who Needs a Glass Rinser?

In the recent past, glass rinsers were used in restaurants and bars. However, today, these products are also available in homes to make drinks taste as good as those in restaurants. High-pressure water spray rinses the glasses and leaves no residue behind for the best tasting drink.

Though sometimes invisible, residue might interfere with the taste and flavor of your drink. So for the longest time, these equipment have been a well-kept secret for bartenders, but not anymore. Homeowners have now invested in them not only to rinse glasses but also to clean baby bottles, coffee mugs, and travel cups among other utensils.

Home Glass Rinsers vs Bar Glass Rinsers

The market offers you various types of glass rinsers and this depends on the purpose of buying them. There are those that are designed for professional and commercial use while others are designed for use in residential environments. They operate similarly but they differ in various aspects. Glass rinsers for home use are easier to install compared to glass rinsers designed for restaurants and bars.

Additionally, it is cheaper to get a glass rinser for home use than the ones designed for commercial or professional use. Ideally, the equipment for home use has a lower capacity than the bar or restaurant use. Therefore, you can only rinse one or two glasses at a time with one for home use while the one for professional use can rinse five or more glasses at a go.

Finally, glass rinsers for commercial or professional use feature extra function to help thaw freezer glasses. This means that beer in the glass won’t go flat during freezing. If you host friends and family gatherings far too often, a professional glass rinser will serve you right. However, if it is just you and a couple of friends once in a while, the home glass rinser will give you value for your money.

Glass Rinser Types

All glass rinsers produce a spray of water jet to get rid of any dirt or residue in the glass. They come in handy for rinsing narrow glasses which limit your reach to the bottom. In most cases, all glass rinsers will perform right for all glasses and drinkware regardless of the material including ceramic, glass, plastic, and metal.

Design

Most glass rinsers will operate the same, however, the design can be different. There are those that have a water basin appearance while others resemble a tray. Pick a product that matches your kitchen aesthetics and one that is compact enough to fit in the available space.

Sprays

Glass rinsers can either have a single powerful water spray or feature multi-dimensional water jets for rinsing purposes. The glass rinser with multiple jets in most cases will thoroughly cleanse your glass by reaching every corner of the drinkware.

Glass washer vs Glass Rinser

These two differ in terms of their purpose. That is why you will find a restaurant or bar installing both at the same place. A glass rinser should only rinse clean and sanitized glasses.

They should never be used to supplement glass cleaning or sanitizing. Use a glasswasher to wash the glass then sanitize it before using the glass rinser to get rid of any sanitizer or soap residue.

Factors to Consider When Buying a Glass Rinser

  1. Versatility:It is important to invest in a versatile product. This means that the product has the capacity to rinse different glassware types and different drinkware. Hence, get a product that will rinse your baby bottles, coffee mugs, espresso cups, travel cups, wine glasses, cocktail glasses, and tumblers among other utensils. This is critical if you serve a diverse selection of drinks and beverages to your guests.
  1. Space: Glass rinsers differ in design and this means that some are more compact than others. Therefore, it is important to consider the space requirement and size of the product before buying it.
  1. Style: You don’t want to just buy a functional glass rinser but also one that matches your kitchen accessories and pleases your eye.

Cleaning and Maintenance of a Glass Rinser

Most products will come with a manual to guide you through the cleaning and maintenance process. However, in general, you should use a brush with gentle bristles to scrub the glass rinser after use to get rid of accumulated dirt.

Avoid being too rough on the rinser and scrub with the help of mild detergent. Use hot water to rinse the rinser in order to get rid of any blockage.

Always ensure that the glass rinser has drained after use to ensure that it does not collect any water that can lead to corrosion.
